Cashier

Role overview

Zaxbys is looking to add a full-time cashier in Athens, GA. In this role, you will be the first team member guests interact with and will help create a fast, friendly, and enjoyable dining experience. The position focuses on order handling, payment processing, guest assistance, cleanliness, and service delivered with speed and accuracy.

What you'll do

• Welcome guests warmly, acknowledge them promptly, and thank them as they leave.
• Take guest orders, enter them correctly into the point-of-sale system, and process transactions accurately.
• Accept payments, manage cash registers, count and verify tills, and document totals properly.
• Stay aware of current promotions and communicate menu details, recommendations, and answers to guest questions.
• Represent the Zaxbys brand in an enthusiastic and professional manner.
• Keep dining areas, counters, bathrooms, and exterior guest spaces clean, safe, and inviting.
• Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance needs to management.
• Replenish paper goods, condiments, serveware, and beverages as needed.
• Keep workstations neat, organized, and efficient.
• Prepare menu items, beverages, sauces, produce, and other items according to company standards and food safety rules.
• Package and present guest orders accurately and neatly.
• Support kitchen and back-of-house tasks when assigned.
• Complete all duties with urgency, follow safety procedures, and carry out other assigned responsibilities.

Training and workplace expectations

• Finish all required training, including the Front of House Development Plan, hands-on station training, and any other training assigned by Zax LLC.
• Work in a setting that may include hot and cold temperature changes, indoor and outdoor conditions, and exposure to food and outdoor allergens.
• Use restaurant equipment safely, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools.

Eligibility and schedule

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
• Full-time availability means 32 to 40 hours per week.
• Part-time availability, mentioned for comparison, means 9 to 28 hours per week.
