Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Cashier offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your retail skills while delivering outstanding customer service. In this role, you will ensure a smooth checkout experience and play a crucial role in safeguarding company assets by being vigilant and detail-oriented.

Key Duties

• Warmly welcome and greet every customer with professionalism and friendliness.
• Efficiently handle all purchase transactions, including merchandise deactivation according to the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) program.
• Introduce and promote Walmart's sponsor programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charity campaigns.
• Assist shoppers by helping bag and load their purchases as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
• Secure register operations by careful cash handling, following company guidelines, and remaining alert to prevent losses.
• Refer customers to the Customer Service Manager for relevant service or transactional queries beyond cashier responsibilities.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is set at $17.75 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
