About the Role
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals passionate about making a substantial positive impact in the lives of adults with intellectual disabilities. Our team provides exceptional care and support in a person-centered manner. Various part-time and full-time contract positions are available across our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized care respecting each person’s wishes and goals.
- Champion and safeguard the rights and dignity of those supported, ensuring privacy and autonomy.
- Actively identify and encourage new interests and meaningful community roles for the individuals.
- Maintain overall wellbeing including health and personal care by ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Implement positive behaviour support strategies to manage behaviours of concern with focus on health and safety.
- Perform risk assessments and apply necessary safety measures.
- Use alternative communication techniques to ensure effective interaction.
- Exhibit excellent organisational, communication, IT proficiency, and report writing skills.
- Be knowledgeable about the New Directions approach.
- Handle confidential information responsibly, respecting privacy at all times.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess at minimum QQI Level 5 in Health Care Support or Social Care; second-year BA/BA (HONS) Applied Social Studies in Social Care students are eligible.
- Diploma or Degree in Social Care or related fields is advantageous.
- Have at least six months of experience working with people with intellectual disabilities.
- Hold a full clean driving license and be willing to operate company vehicles.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.
- Authorization to work legally in Ireland and possession of valid work permits.
