Overview
This opportunity is with a partner organization seeking a skilled Business Operations professional based in Canada. In this role, you will serve as a vital operational partner in a rapidly growing, fully remote company. You'll collaborate with leadership to design and implement internal systems, processes, and infrastructure aimed at fostering sustainable expansion.
Your responsibilities will span diverse areas, including people operations, investor relations, contract and vendor management, all carrying significant visibility within the company. This position requires a proactive individual who flourishes amid ambiguity, takes initiative, and enjoys tackling intricate operational challenges. You'll have the autonomy to enhance workflows, incorporate efficient methods, and establish scalable foundations to support future growth. Key Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive people operations such as onboarding/offboarding procedures, employment paperwork, account management, equipment coordination, and all phases of the employee lifecycle.
- Administer HR systems and operational tools to ensure accurate information and dependable internal data sources.
- Facilitate compensation-related processes, including salary modifications, equity documentation, and related employee record updates.
- Champion initiatives to cultivate company culture, including coordinating team rituals, enhancing employee experience, organizing celebrations, and driving engagement activities for a remote team.
- Plan and execute company offsite events, covering logistics, travel arrangements, venue booking, and scheduling.
- Organize board meetings with responsibilities including scheduling, preparation of materials, maintaining documentation, recording minutes, and ensuring follow-up actions.
- Support investor relations by managing communications, processing documentation requests, and overseeing corporate administrative tasks.
- Review and assess vendor and partner contracts to determine commercial implications, risks, and opportunities prior to execution.
- Oversee contract workflows, secure approvals and signatures, maintain stakeholder alignment, and manage ongoing vendor partnerships.
- Maintain required operational reports with external partners and service providers.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 3 years’ experience in operations, corporate administration, legal operations, or related roles within fast-scaling startup environments.
- Demonstrated capability to manage critical business processes with meticulous attention to detail, including contracts, board procedures, employee files, or corporate administration.
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver consistent results.
- High level of discretion and sound judgment when managing confidential items such as compensation figures, corporate records, and strategic files.
- Understanding of business agreements with the ability to identify key commercial factors and know when legal advice is necessary.
- Proactive approach emphasizing process improvement, early risk detection, and pragmatic solution development.
- Keen interest in leveraging automation and AI technologies to simplify repetitive operational tasks.
- Experience collaborating effectively across multiple time zones within a global remote team environment.
- Self-driven with the aptitude for independent decision-making in a dynamic, fast-moving setting.
