Role and Responsibilities
As a Business Intelligence Data Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to enhance enterprise reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision support. Collaborating with business partners, you'll convert multifaceted banking, financial, operational, risk, and compliance data into practical insights and scalable reporting assets.
- Analyze complex banking and operational data to reveal patterns, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Engage with stakeholders to capture reporting needs, establish key performance indicators, and translate these into analytical solutions.
- Create and refine dashboards, scorecards, and high-level reports leveraging Power BI.
- Produce timely and accurate insights that inform strategic and operational decisions.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to support analytic and reporting functions.
- Manage data workflows including ingestion, transformation, and orchestration using Microsoft data platform technologies.
- Contribute to the architecture and maintenance of Microsoft-based data warehouses and reporting layers.
- Document reporting infrastructures, data flows, and technical procedures.
- Ensure data accuracy by validating and reconciling datasets across systems to uphold reporting integrity.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data definitions, transformation logic, warehouse schemas, business rules, and reporting processes.
- Support adherence to regulatory, audit, and risk reporting demands within the banking environment.
- Identify and recommend scalable process improvements grounded in data-driven approaches.
- Promote robust data governance, standardization, and compliance across all reporting environments.
Qualifications and Skills
- 3 to 5+ years in business intelligence, analytics, reporting, or data engineering, ideally within banking, financial services, or other regulated sectors.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, Finance, or related discipline preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Azure data tools, and familiarity with banking or financial data architectures.
- Experience with data modeling and best practices in business intelligence.
- Strong SQL skills encompassing query writing, stored procedures, and data transformation techniques.
- Competence in constructing dashboards and visual insights using Power BI.
- Understanding of Microsoft data platforms, data warehousing, and ETL concepts.
- Knowledge of data governance principles, reporting controls, and quality assurance techniques.
- An analytical mindset with a talent for conveying complex data findings clearly to varied audiences.
- Attention to detail coupled with solid problem-solving abilities.
- Experience supporting regulatory, operational, or audit-related reporting in financial contexts is advantageous.
- Capability to juggle multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with excellent communication skills.
