About the Role
The Business Development Manager will oversee new business initiatives by identifying, assessing, and negotiating opportunities for sales and marketing growth across various areas, including strategy formulation and mergers and acquisitions. The role involves conducting extensive analysis to develop optimal revenue models, distribution channels, pricing strategies, and new product development plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive business development projects across diverse product lines to achieve growth targets and financial profitability, incorporating acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and investments.
- Set and monitor targets for profitability, productivity, and growth.
- Organize business reviews, resource allocation, organizational structuring, and conduct financial analyses.
- Identify and negotiate strategic partnerships such as financial deals, customer sharing agreements, and intellectual property rights through in-depth analysis.
- Prioritize and oversee investments related to new product development initiatives.
- Operate with minimal supervision, independently resolving complex matters, escalating only highly complex issues; collaborate with managers to ensure workforce aligns with current and future needs.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams on business development best practices.
- Advise business leaders on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, alliances, and other business combinations; provide recommendations on their impacts on organizational goals and performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong expertise in valuation and a deep understanding of financial and accounting principles.
- Experience managing financial modeling efforts, including mentoring junior staff and ensuring analysis quality and accuracy.
- At least six years of relevant professional experience.
- Master's or equivalent postgraduate degree.
- Minimum of three years in a supervisory role.
Desired Experience
- Proven track record leading transaction processes and teams, including due diligence, valuation, transaction structuring, and negotiation of sales and purchase agreements.
- Experience planning and managing business reviews, resource distribution, organizational structures, and financial analytics.
