Building Maintenance Technician I

Role Overview

OTO Development is hiring a Building Maintenance Technician I in St. Petersburg, Florida. This is an on-site role focused on day-to-day upkeep, routine repairs, safety compliance, and guest-area maintenance in a hospitality setting.

Key Duties

• Work in the company-issued uniform, ID, required shoes, and safety gear to help prevent injuries.
• Follow all safety and security rules, including equipment safety, guest safety, and proper handling of chemicals.
• Carry out a broad range of preventative maintenance tasks.
• Clean rooms after maintenance work is completed.
• Collect trash across the property.
• Make sure maintenance tools and equipment stay in working order and are properly maintained.
• Respond promptly when maintenance emergencies arise.
• Complete painting work on walls, ceilings, doors, and window trim when needed.
• Clean guest laundry washers, dryers, vending machines, and shared spaces twice each day.

Requirements

• Basic familiarity with hand tools and standard maintenance methods.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a guest-oriented, team-based environment.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to complete precise, high-quality work within set expectations.
• Customer service mindset, including the ability to anticipate guest needs, greet and acknowledge guests, and handle requests to support guest satisfaction.
• Proactive, results-driven approach with the ability to deliver the required outcome.

Physical and Travel Expectations

This role is physically demanding and requires comfort with standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, and squatting for long periods. Travel outside the property and nearby area is expected to be minimal to none.
