Role Overview
This position calls for managing the daily operational, financial, commercial, and administrative functions of an insurance branch, ensuring strict adherence to all regulatory and organizational policies.
Work Context and Challenges
- Delivering flawless accuracy across many tasks amidst evolving procedures and extensive organizational guidelines, often under prolonged or extended work hours and unexpected spikes in workload without robust system validations.
- Safeguarding confidentiality of sensitive data despite limited infrastructure and support systems.
- Operating over 15 diverse IT systems despite connectivity and server bandwidth constraints.
- Effectively managing and guiding sales teams to maintain full compliance with internal and external standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Accurately processing financial activities such as receipting, banking, and reconciliation of policy payments (cash, cheques, demand drafts) within set deadlines.
- Detecting counterfeit currency notes to prevent losses and managing cheque dishonor situations.
- Ensuring secure custody and control over branch keys and cash boxes.
- Timely reconciliation of branch assets and oversight of petty cash expenditures.
- Managing advisor licensing processes including new and renewal applications, supporting recruitment and training coordination, maintaining sales data reports, and assisting in reward and recognition initiatives.
- Handling contact updates and outreach efforts to enhance advisor and frontline staff connectivity.
- Coordinating branch commercial activities, including vendor management, procurement, lease arrangements, and branch setup facilitation.
- Providing legal, compliance, and taxation support including timely tax payments, compliance with AML protocols, managing official notices, and statutory displays.
- Administering advisor commission processes and delivering HR, IT, and administrative support such as onboarding, exit procedures, IT troubleshooting, and resource management.
- Overseeing underwriting and new business processing to ensure data accuracy and timely policy issuance.
- Delivering excellent customer service through first-contact resolution on queries, claims, reinstatements, and other service requests.
- Driving revenue generation and retention initiatives like promoting electronic payments, customer engagement for policy enhancements, and fraud prevention.
- Monitoring operational expenses and promoting cost-saving initiatives at the branch.
