Roles and Responsibilities

• Craft, develop, and sustain dynamic Power BI dashboards and analytical reports tailored to key business performance indicators and organizational needs.
• Create and fine-tune enterprise-level semantic datasets implementing dimensional modeling techniques such as Star and Snowflake schemas.
• Construct sophisticated DAX expressions including calculated columns, performance metrics, KPIs, and temporal intelligence calculations.
• Compose complex and efficient SQL queries for data extraction, conversion, and issue resolution.
• Develop and oversee Power BI Dataflows leveraging Power Query (M language).
• Consolidate data from diverse sources such as OData feeds, RESTful APIs, Microsoft Dataverse platforms (Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and CRM), Azure SQL databases, among others.
• Implement row-level security measures and control workspace access permissions.
• Administer Power BI Workspaces, Applications, deployment pipelines, and ensure dataset governance standards.
• Optimize performance of reports, schedule dataset refresh strategies, and manage large datasets effectively.
• Work closely with data engineering teams to align reporting models with Lakehouse or Data Warehouse architectures.
• Diagnose and rectify dataset refresh errors, connectivity problems, and performance limitations.
• Engage in requirement collection, stakeholder consultation, user acceptance testing assistance, and presentation of solutions.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Minimum of two years in relevant BI development or data analysis roles.
• Experience with sourcing and handling data from various primary and secondary repositories.
• Proficiency in Power BI development and advanced knowledge of DAX.
• Strong SQL skills for querying, data manipulation, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Power Query (M Query) and Dataflows.
• Understanding of data modeling principles, including Star and Snowflake schemas.
• Capabilities in managing data integration from REST APIs, OData, and Microsoft Dataverse.
• Knowledge of security implementation like Row Level Security (RLS) and role-based access control.
• Collaboration skills with data engineering teams and experience with data warehouse or Lakehouse designs.
