Stellenbeschreibung

About the Role

Joining Whānau Āwhina Plunket as a B4 School Check Administrator entails ensuring that every tamaiti is scheduled for their B4 School Check—a thorough evaluation covering language, growth, behaviour, social and emotional health, and oral wellbeing. These assessments are conducted by nurses in various settings including clinics, early childhood centres, community locations, marae, and through home visits across select regions in Aotearoa.

This is a full-time, fixed-term role based in the Westgate office, Auckland, lasting until April 2027. Working standard office hours, you will play a key role in coordinating appointments for tamariki turning four and supporting the overall team effort in ensuring service accessibility to communities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Contact whānau and caregivers of tamariki who have recently turned four, arranging appointments for their B4 School Check at suitable times and locations.
  • Perform data entry and maintain database systems to track appointments, client information, and staff schedules.
  • Manage incoming communications and paperwork from external providers, ensuring prompt and accurate input into organizational systems.
  • Adapt communication styles empathetically to engage with a diverse range of families and meet monthly pro-equity targets focusing on communities most in need.
  • Collaborate with team members and provide assistance when required to maintain smooth operations.

Candidate Profile

Success in this role depends on rapidly establishing trust and rapport with whānau, effectively communicating the benefits of the service, and maintaining the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Experience in outbound call centre operations is advantageous, as is a strong commitment to advancing equity across communities. Essential qualities include confidence, empathy, and teamwork. Living the organisation’s core values—courage, humility, care, and relationship-building—is integral.

Compensation and Schedule

The salary range for this position is $57,405 to $62,672 annually, equating to approximately $29.05 to $31.72 per hour depending on experience. The working week consists of 38 hours.

Whānau Āwhina Plunket is committed to the health and wellbeing of pēpi, tamariki and their whānau/family, embracing a pro-equity philosophy that honors Treaty principles to foster confident families and connected communities.

Benefits include retail discounts and a supportive environment fostering professional growth and wellbeing.
