Role Overview
The PLC Engineer will be tasked with programming PLCs, designing visualization solutions, and integrating systems within power generation and industrial automation projects. This position demands thorough expertise in power systems, genset control, synchronization, and load management strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop, adjust, and debug PLC programs utilizing Siemens TIA Portal.
- Configure and create HMI/SCADA applications using Siemens WinCC and analogous visualization tools.
- Execute system tests, commission equipment, and troubleshoot issues onsite.
- Integrate PLC frameworks with genset control modules sourced from various manufacturers.
- Apply and uphold control logic related to synchronization, load sharing, and load management.
- Analyze power system needs and translate them into appropriate control system logic.
- Contribute to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and project commissioning activities.
- Draft and maintain thorough technical documentation, data backups, and system setup configurations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automation Engineering, or similar fields.
- At least five years of solid experience in PLC programming and industrial automation sectors.
- Proficient with Siemens PLCs, TIA Portal, and WinCC software platforms.
- Experienced in developing visualization and SCADA systems.
- Strong understanding of genset control mechanisms from different OEMs.
- In-depth knowledge of power system operations including synchronization, load sharing, and load management techniques.
- Capability to independently manage sophisticated automation system projects.
- Willingness to travel domestically within Saudi Arabia and internationally for project assignments.
Location & Travel
This role is based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and may require international travel as needed.
