Audio Visual Technician

Position Overview

The Audio Visual Technician role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining diverse audio, visual, projection, lighting, and conferencing equipment to support events. This position is essential to ensure seamless AV service in banquet and meeting rooms within a prestigious luxury hotel environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and operate AV equipment including projectors, lighting systems, and conferencing devices for various events.
• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance to ensure all AV devices function properly, including cleaning and minor repairs.
• Label defective equipment and promptly communicate issues to supervisors.
• Manage cable organization by securing and taping down loose wires to maintain safety and aesthetics.
• Verify equipment deliveries and room configurations against Banquet Event Orders, updating supervisors on any changes.
• Provide guidance and support to guests and clients on proper equipment use, promoting additional AV services as appropriate.
• Conduct periodic monitoring of equipment during use and oversee break-down and secure storage after events conclude.
• Follow Marriott Visual Productions Standard Operating Procedures thoroughly and ensure compliance with safety and security policies.
• Maintain professional appearance and uphold confidentiality while protecting company property.
• Engage positively with guests, anticipate their needs, and deliver service with genuine appreciation in line with company standards.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve shared goals and uphold quality assurance criteria.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving equipment up to 50 pounds without assistance and conducting visual inspections of tools and machinery.
• Carry out additional duties as directed by management.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum educational qualification of a High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• At least one year of related hands-on experience in AV equipment handling preferred.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Licenses or certifications are not mandatory for this role.
