Role Overview

We are expanding our Equity Derivatives business to cater to institutional investors focused on China, Hong Kong, and US equity markets. We seek a proactive Associate / AVP in Equity Derivatives Operations to handle the everyday processes of our evolving Equity Derivatives platform. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the trade lifecycle for Equity Total Return Swaps (TRS) and various OTC Equity Derivative products, including trade booking, confirmation, amendments, and lifecycle event handling.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in verifying trade economics, financing events, dividend adjustments, and corporate actions.
  • Collaborate closely with Front Office teams and external counterparties to resolve trade discrepancies and operational exceptions.
  • Oversee daily cash and securities settlement activities related to Equity Derivatives trades, monitoring settlement progress meticulously.
  • Conduct thorough daily reconciliations of positions, cash accounts, and trade logs; investigate and address any breaks or discrepancies.
  • Generate operational reports and uphold deadlines for settlement completion, operational checks, and exception management procedures.
  • Manage client account setups and maintain static data in the trading system following client onboarding and KYC clearance.
  • Configure trading system parameters such as settlement instructions, product authorizations, and account configurations per approved onboarding protocols.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), manage account modifications, and spearhead system enhancements for Equity Derivatives operations.
  • Interface effectively with brokers, custodians, clearing agencies, and liquidity providers to guarantee smooth trade processing and settlements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including Front Office, Risk Management, Compliance, and Operations to back daily operations and implement new products.
  • Provide operational support across Capital Markets functions to sustain business continuity and streamline processes.
  • Engage actively in launching the Equity Derivatives platform, including designing workflows and setting up operational procedures.
  • Identify and promote process improvements through automation, efficiency enhancements, and system optimizations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed operational procedures, control documents, and internal manuals.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, or closely related fields.
  • Have 3 to 5 years of pertinent experience in Middle Office, Trade Support, Settlement, or Operations within securities firms, prime brokers, or capital markets institutions.
  • Prior experience with Equity Total Return Swaps or other Equity Derivatives operations is highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of trade lifecycle management, settlement processes, reconciliations, and control mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in English is required; Mandarin language skills are preferred.
  • Authorized to work in Singapore.
