Job description
Position Summary
The Assistant Resident Manager role involves overseeing the daily functioning of designated apartment complexes, ensuring cleanliness, managing administrative duties, performing light maintenance, and delivering exemplary tenant customer service.
Key Duties
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas regularly by sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing glass and chrome, treating carpet stains, and freshening air.
- Provide thorough cleaning of apartments following tenant move-outs to prepare units for new occupants by cleaning floors, bathrooms, surfaces, and windows.
- Conduct outdoor maintenance seasonally including raking, flower bed upkeep, snow removal and salting, minor repairs, and general upkeep.
- Manage garbage disposal by emptying containers and cleaning the dumpster vicinity as needed.
- Support administrative operations through processing paperwork like applications, leases, move-in/out inspections, and maintaining office organization.
- Assist in rent collection processes, sending tenant communications, and handling other clerical tasks such as emails, filing, and faxing.
- Provide building management support by answering phone inquiries, monitoring rental interest, and ensuring high tenant satisfaction via customer service.
Candidate Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of three years’ cleaning experience.
- Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email/internet use.
- Familiarity with local regulations, industry standards, municipal bylaws, and relevant provincial laws such as the Residential Tenancy Act, Building and Fire Codes, and Occupational Health and Safety Act is an asset.
- Physical capability to lift 50 pounds, bend, push, pull, and routinely navigate stairs.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary amounting to $42,000, inclusive of rent for an employer-provided apartment.
- Utilities and parking are covered by the employer.
