Assistant Psychologist - Dietetic Assistant

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and imaginative Assistant Psychologist to join the Complications of Excessive Weight (CEW) team. This position is part of the Paediatric Psychological Medicine service based at Addenbrooke's Hospital, under the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a 0.8 whole time equivalent (WTE) role split equally between assistant psychologist duties (0.4 WTE) and dietetic assistant responsibilities (0.4 WTE), serving patients across the East of England.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and enhance psychological care for patients referred to the Paediatric Obesity service.
• Assist in psychological assessments and interventions under supervision, operating independently within an agreed plan and team protocols.
• Help develop and lead group sessions for children, young people, and their families.
• Create suitable clinical resources for use with paediatric patients and families at Addenbrooke's.
• Collaborate with the paediatric dietetic team and support advanced dietitians in delivering specialized dietetic services to the CEW service.
• Contribute within a multidisciplinary team environment to deliver evidence-based clinical practice, management, education, research, and audits, enhancing dietetic service quality.
• Assist with clinical administration, audits, data collection, research projects, teaching, and other related projects.
