Role overview

This position is responsible for leading the procure-to-pay function inside a Shared Services / Global Capability Centre. The role is centered on large-scale transactional delivery, process improvement, automation, and strict adherence to global controls. It also involves maintaining service quality, handling complex vendor interactions, and supporting broader accounting and reporting activities.

Primary focus

The job is divided into two main parts: 80% Accounts Payable management and 20% General Ledger and financial reporting.

Accounts Payable leadership

  • Own the complete global accounts payable process, covering invoice handling, vendor master data upkeep, payment execution, and query resolution.
  • Deliver against KPIs and SLAs related to accuracy, invoice ageing, and processing volumes.
  • Drive automation and transformation through OCR, ERP enhancements, workflow design, and robotic process automation.
  • Work with Treasury to improve cash flow, maximize discount capture, and plan payment runs effectively.
  • Track, review, and manage open advances, GRNs, and outstanding payables on a regular basis.
  • Ensure strong controls, internal audit readiness, and compliance with global regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the escalation contact for key international vendors and resolve difficult reconciliation issues.

Financial oversight and governance

  • Manage sub-ledger close activities, accruals, and reconciliations to support accurate accounting cut-offs.
  • Coordinate with GCC colleagues, onshore finance leaders, and global procurement teams to keep processes aligned.

Team leadership

  • Recruit, coach, and develop AP managers, team leaders, and specialists to build a high-performing function.

Systems and working style

  • Use ERP platforms such as SAP and Xpedeon at an advanced level.
  • Bring hands-on experience with automation implementation.
  • Apply process-improvement approaches such as Six Sigma, Lean, or Agile project management.
  • Communicate effectively in English with stakeholders across regions and time zones.
