Overview
Kennedy Krieger Institute is hiring an Assistant Director of Philanthropy to join a collaborative development team focused on supporting individuals and families through meaningful fundraising work. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys mission-driven relationship building, bringing fresh ideas, and contributing to a high-performing environment.
The role centers on strengthening donor connections, expanding philanthropic support, and working alongside experienced colleagues in a fast-paced setting that values initiative, positivity, and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the organization with donors and prospects, building lasting relationships that help sustain philanthropic support.
- Develop and move a donor pipeline by qualifying prospects, increasing annual giving, and helping advance supporters toward major and planned gifts with team collaboration.
- Track progress against performance targets tied to outreach activity, funds raised, new prospect identification, and proposals delivered.
- Draft persuasive donor-facing materials such as proposals, solicitation content, and stewardship communications tailored to individual supporters.
- Review donor data and giving trends to guide outreach priorities and identify new opportunities.
- Partner with internal teams and leadership to improve engagement strategies and create a smooth, positive donor experience.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
- Applicants should have 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, donor relations, event support, advancement communications, public relations, marketing, or a related area.
- Experience in academic, healthcare, or research environments is an advantage.
Compensation
The stated salary range for this role is $64,501.01 to $114,089.46 per year.
