About Pens Meadow School and the Role
Pens Meadow School, under the Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, is inviting applications for the role of Assistant Caretaker at its location on Tiled House Lane, Pensnett (DY5 4LN). This opportunity follows the school's new building development and their expansion to accommodate 30 additional pupils, serving 155 children aged 4 to 19 years with complex learning needs such as autism and medical conditions. Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Caretaker will contribute significantly to maintaining a secure, safe, and functional environment at the school. Working closely alongside the Site Manager and Caretaker, duties include routine maintenance tasks, health and safety inspections, managing premises security, and assisting with the daily operational requirements necessary for smooth school functioning.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, a proactive mindset, and take pride in their work. Experience with practical maintenance or previous site-related jobs is preferred but not mandatory. The role requires teamwork abilities, flexibility, and a constructive attitude, along with a commitment to supporting both pupils and staff within a dynamic school setting.

Additional Information
- Position is a permanent, year-round full-time role (37 hours per week).
- Salary range: Grade 3 SCP 3–4 (£25,185 - £25,583 annually).
