Role overview
TAFE NSW is seeking an Assessor in Business Services based at Strathfield Campus. This is a temporary full-time appointment running until 30 June 2028, with two vacancies available.
The position sits within a team of experienced industry professionals in a collaborative setting. The focus of the role is to complete independent assessment and grading of students, support them in finishing assessment tasks, and identify where further development or training may be needed. This role does not involve teaching or delivering training.
The total salary package is $103,956, which includes a base salary of $91,590, plus employer superannuation contributions and annual leave loading.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will assess student work against competency-based requirements, provide grading, and help students progress through tasks by identifying strengths and gaps. You will also contribute feedback in an adult learning context and help motivate learners to complete their studies.
About you
To be effective in this role, you should have strong subject knowledge in one of the relevant business services disciplines and be able to work independently while maintaining professional standards. You should also be comfortable using digital and ICT tools in an online learning environment.
Qualifications and experience
A minimum Diploma, or a higher qualification, is required in one of the following areas: Marketing and Communications, Human Resources, Leadership & Management, Workplace Health and Safety, Training and Assessment, or Entrepreneurship and New Business.
You must also have at least three years of current post-qualification industry experience relevant to your qualification, gained within the past five years.
