About the Role

Join Boeing Defence Australia as an Assembly Operator at the MQ-28 Ghost Bat Production Facility in Wellcamp, Toowoomba, Queensland. Be part of a pioneering team creating Australia's first military-designed combat aircraft in over half a century at Boeing’s inaugural final assembly site outside North America. Responsibilities

  • Execute precision assembly tasks including fitting, riveting, bonding, and fastening of airframe structures and components.
  • Operate and collaborate with advanced automated equipment such as robots and numerical control machines.
  • Install and route wiring harnesses, avionics modules, and mechanical systems in compliance with detailed work instructions.
  • Participate in initial builds, assembly of subcomponents, and adhere rigorously to configuration control protocols.
  • Utilize jigs, fixtures, and tooling safely and accurately; assist with tooling maintenance and continuous process improvements.
  • Perform factory acceptance inspections, functional tests, and support production testing activities.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety, quality, and traceability standards within a regulated defence environment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot and enhance manufacturing processes.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in aerospace, production, or precision manufacturing sectors is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, with advantageous experience in working with composites and various riveting techniques (e.g., solid, hi-lok).
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to exceptional workmanship.
  • Capability to interpret and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and safety protocols.
  • Effective communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively in team environments on varying shift schedules.
  • Must be an Australian citizen to comply with defence security requirements.
