Job Overview
We are seeking a permanent Middle School, High School Diploma, and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Art Teacher to join the academic team at International Schools Partnership Limited in Doha, Qatar. The role reports directly to the Specialist Coordinator and involves delivering high-quality art education within a supportive and challenging learning environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspire and motivate students by setting high expectations and creating a respectful, safe, and stimulating classroom atmosphere.
- Set challenging goals accommodating diverse student backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles, and maintain positive conduct and values as exemplary behavior.
- Be accountable for monitoring student achievement, progress, and learning outcomes, utilizing knowledge of students' abilities and previous learning to effectively plan lessons.
- Encourage self-reflection in students regarding their academic development and emerging educational needs.
- Possess a thorough understanding of art subjects and curricula, promoting scholarly interest and addressing misconceptions.
- Plan and deliver well-structured lessons that foster a love for arts and intellectual curiosity, including setting homework and extracurricular activities to augment learning.
- Adjust instruction to meet the strengths and requirements of all pupils, including those with special educational needs, high abilities, English as an additional language, or disabilities.
- Apply formative and summative assessments effectively, using data to monitor progress, set targets, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Manage student behavior by establishing clear expectations, promoting discipline fairly, and fostering motivation and engagement.
- Contribute to the school's wider life by participating in extracurricular activities and supporting curriculum events, maintaining positive professional relationships with staff and parents.
- Uphold health and safety standards across the school, including playground supervision and ensuring responsible use of property and equipment.
- Adhere to high standards of professional conduct and ethics, safeguarding student well-being and respecting cultural norms within Qatar and the school's policy framework.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education from an accredited institution.
- Valid teaching certification recognized by Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE).
- Minimum of three years of relevant teaching experience.
- Proficiency in English (both spoken and written) is mandatory.
