Position Overview

Huntley Community School District 158 is seeking a dedicated Art Teacher to join Marlowe Middle School for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time position spans 10 months and involves delivering educational content that develops students' academic, social, and motor skills, following Illinois state law and board policies.

Job Responsibilities

The teacher will implement the approved art curriculum, employing a variety of instructional methods tailored to diverse student needs. They will gather and analyze student data to inform teaching approaches, maintain effective classroom management consistent with district policies, work collaboratively with colleagues to address student needs, maintain consistent communication with parents, and foster a positive and engaging learning environment for all students.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree and preferably one to two years of relevant experience or training. A valid Illinois Professional Educators License with a Visual Arts endorsement is mandatory. Effective communication skills with parents, staff, and administration, as well as the ability to collaborate on improved teaching practices, are essential.

Compensation and Benefits

Remuneration is aligned with the HEA Salary Schedule, depending on education and experience. Benefits include HEA membership, Teacher Retirement System (TRS), voluntary retirement options, and insurance plans.
