Role overview
Aditya Birla Capital is hiring an Area Collections Manager for secured flows in Madhya Pradesh. The role focuses on improving collections outcomes across the assigned area by managing delinquency, strengthening recovery performance, and keeping portfolio losses under control.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver the collections and financial targets for the assigned territory.
- Track delinquency closely and work to reduce credit losses across the portfolio.
- Improve resolution performance and drive better recovery outcomes.
- Ensure sufficient staffing is available by location, bucket, and customer segment.
- Keep charge-offs to a minimum and increase recoveries from charge-off accounts.
- Monitor collection expenses regularly and control the cost of dues recovery.
- Review delinquent accounts every day and maintain routine portfolio oversight at account level.
- Watch customer accounts across the region and identify likely delayed-payment or default cases early.
- Partner with non-performing and defaulting borrowers to arrive at practical recovery plans.
- Create MIS reports with different cuts and trends so the collections team can take corrective action and identify improvement areas.
- Share regular updates with management and stakeholders such as Sales, Risk, and Policy teams on collections performance, delinquency trends, negative areas, negative profiles, non-starters, skips, fraud cases, and related issues.
- Coordinate with collection agencies to run recovery operations efficiently.
- Support the selection process for external agencies and keep their performance under continuous review.
- Maintain strong control over agencies to ensure overdue debts are recovered within timelines.
- Make sure all collections documentation is maintained as per internal standards and regulatory rules.
- Handle customer complaints related to collections and work toward a fair resolution for both the business and the customer.
- Plan and conduct periodic audits of the collections team to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
- Work with the legal team and senior leadership on escalated cases to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Guide, coach, and mentor the team.
- Ensure team members receive regular functional and behavioral training in coordination with HR.
- Take part in talent management and people development initiatives to build a strong pipeline and an engaged team.
