Architectural Designer

Your Role

As a Junior Architect at Gensler, you will join forces with architects and designers to create and deliver comprehensive architectural design solutions, managing the process from conceptual sketches through detailed 3D models to finalized construction documents. You will address technical challenges by researching and applying practical, innovative solutions, demonstrating accountability and dedication within a communicative, team-based environment. Your contribution will support the evolution of your professional career in a collaborative atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design development and execution of architectural and technical project components.
• Apply thorough knowledge of architectural principles, building codes, materials, and technical details.
• Engage throughout all stages of projects, mainly focusing on design development, construction documentation, and administration phases.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, and authorities to fulfill project goals.
• Create and manage BIM models and verified construction drawings.
• Resolve complex design and technical issues to innovate construction-ready solutions.
• Contribute to achieving project sustainability objectives and incorporate green strategies consistently.
• Concurrently research and evaluate sustainable design techniques, integrating these into design iterations.
• Perform climate-related analysis and studies tailored to project requirements.

Qualifications

• 0 to 3 years of experience in an architectural practice environment.
• Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or an equivalent qualification.
• Licensed or registered architect is preferred.
• Strong understanding of building codes, construction standards, and structural systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a team-first approach.
• Capability to manage challenging situations using tact and emotional intelligence.
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Preferred credentials include LEED, WELL, Fitwel, or Greenmark certifications.
• Commitment to collaborative, sustainable project achievements and continuous professional growth in sustainability.
• Proficiency in software such as Revit, Enscape, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office; additional skills in Illustrator, Rhino, and Grasshopper are advantageous.

Technical Competencies

• Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Rhinoceros for modeling and design development.
• Familiarity with real-time rendering workflows and material management within BIM and parametric design frameworks.
• Experience with integrated design tools interoperability, including AutoCAD, Revit, and Rhino.
