Role overview
Wold Architects and Engineers is hiring a full-time Architectural Designer for its Evansville, Indiana office. The ideal candidate will be someone with strong drive, enthusiasm, and design talent who has completed either a professional or non-professional degree in Architecture. This position is centered on client service and on contributing fresh, progressive design ideas.
The firm is a full-service architecture and engineering practice serving a broad mix of market sectors, including K-12 education, government, civic, higher education, and health care. Because the organization works across many client types and project scales, the role offers wide exposure to different kinds of design work.
Wold emphasizes a studio-style environment focused on mentoring, collaboration, and professional growth. Team members work alongside interior designers, architects, and mechanical and electrical engineers to deliver integrated design solutions. Entry-level professionals are given real design opportunities while still receiving guidance from experienced staff.
Requirements
- A professional or non-professional Architecture degree from an accredited school
- 0 to 3 years of experience
- Ability to use Revit and Adobe Photoshop, or a willingness to learn them
- Strong visual communication skills, including the ability to sketch ideas and diagram concepts clearly
- Good verbal and written communication abilities
- A creative, approachable, and energetic personality
- Interest in working well within a team-based environment
- Capacity to manage both short-term deadlines and longer-term project work
Responsibilities
- Develop construction documents and building models with Revit, BlueBeam, and AutoCAD
- Work with consultants and internal team members across all stages of design
- Investigate building codes, product options, and construction techniques
- Assist with construction administration and field review tasks
- Participate in client meetings, gather project information, and translate it into the design process
- Continue building technical and professional capabilities through mentorship and hands-on project experience
