Job description
Role Overview and Responsibilities
As an API Automation Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts for APIs and backend systems utilizing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, and SoapUI. Your role includes performing comprehensive end-to-end API testing encompassing functional, regression, and integration test layers. You will also develop and sustain automation frameworks, analyze requirements to create detailed test scenarios, cases, and data, and validate API responses and protocols including JSON/XML structures and HTTP methods.
Leveraging AI-driven testing methodologies is a core component of this role. You will optimize test coverage, implement self-healing automation scripts, and improve defect identification and analysis through AI technologies. Defect management, including identification, documentation, and tracking until resolution using bug tracking systems like JIRA, will be part of your routine. Collaboration with development, product management, and QA teams is essential to align testing objectives with requirements. You will also execute automated test suites integrated within CI/CD pipelines, generate and interpret automation execution reports, and support validation efforts during release and production stages.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
- Practical experience in general software testing and QA processes.
- Profound hands-on expertise in API testing using Postman, REST Assured, and SoapUI.
- Experience with AI-based testing tools and methodologies.
- In-depth understanding of RESTful API concepts, HTTP methods, and working knowledge of JSON/XML data formats.
- Competence in developing and running automation testing frameworks.
- Basic programming or scripting proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
- Strong SQL knowledge and ability to perform database validation.

Candidates holding a Bachelor of Computer Applications (B.C.A.) in any specialization, Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)/Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in any field, or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Information Technology are welcome to apply.
