Labs Practice Overview

The Labs Practice represents PwC Middle East's innovation hub, focusing on quickly prototyping and developing proof-of-concept projects using emerging technologies, particularly AI and immersive technologies. The team turns innovative ideas into functional demos that showcase possibilities to clients.

Role Contribution

• Support design, development, and testing of AI-driven prototypes and experimental solutions as part of a collaborative engineering team under senior guidance.
• Explore and experiment with new frameworks, tools, and platforms, sharing insights internally.
• Translate conceptual approaches into functional components for larger demonstrations.
• Engage actively in ideation sessions, design sprints, and innovation workshops.
• Assist in client engagements, workshops, and experience center tours alongside experienced team members.
• Manage lab setup, preparation, and reset for client events and internal workshops.
• Maintain lab equipment and materials, ensuring readiness and proper storage.
• Develop skills to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and emerging technology trends.
• Contribute to documentation, research, and internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Undertake additional tasks as assigned by management.

Candidate Profile

• Up to 3 years professional experience as a Software Engineer or a strong portfolio demonstrating applied skills through academic, personal, or open-source projects. Fresh graduates with notable projects are welcome to apply.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• High enthusiasm and curiosity for new technologies.
• Team-oriented mindset with effective communication skills.
• Open to learning, receptive to feedback, and eager to develop quickly.
• Flexible and comfortable working in ambiguous, dynamic environments.
• Customer-centric attitude.

Technical Competencies

• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Understanding of AI and machine learning concepts with hands-on or project experience using at least one popular large language model API (e.g., GPT, Claude, Gemini).
• Awareness of AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn; depth not mandatory but eagerness to learn is essential.
• Experience with front-end or back-end development; full-stack knowledge is advantageous.
• Familiarity with React (including Next.js) and Tailwind CSS is a plus.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and version control via Git.
• Comfort using AI-assisted coding tools.
• Exposure to Docker, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), or DevOps practices is beneficial but not required.
