Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time Accountant to work on-site in Doha, Qatar. The incumbent will be responsible for managing everyday financial activities such as transaction recording, general ledger upkeep, and reconciling bank and supplier accounts. Key duties involve generating invoices, executing payment processes, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting budgeting plus cash flow monitoring. The role includes assisting with month-end and year-end closures, preparing managerial financial reports, and ensuring adherence to local accounting standards and company procedures. Collaborating with project and procurement departments, the Accountant will track project expenses, validate documentation, and provide precise financial information to facilitate decision-making.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Comprehensive grasp of accounting principles, including ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting software and advanced use of MS Excel for data entry, financial analysis, and statement preparation.
- Experienced in managing billing, accounts payable/receivable, and payment workflows with keen attention to accuracy.
- Knowledgeable in budgeting, cost management, and financial tracking within construction, contracting, or relevant sectors.
- Familiarity with Qatari or Gulf Cooperation Council local tax laws and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational aptitude to handle diverse tasks within set deadlines.
- Effective communicator, both written and oral, capable of working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional credentials such as ACCA, CMA, or CPA are desirable.
- Previous accounting experience, preferably in construction or contracting industries.
