About the Role

This role involves active sales, account management, and business growth through visits to job sites, engagement with current and potential clients, participation at industry events, and staying informed on market trends. The position is not just about reacting to orders but anticipating customer needs, identifying new business opportunities, and offering customized solutions for mutual success.
Operating from our New Lynn or Wairau Park locations, this permanent full-time role revolves around servicing customers throughout Auckland with regular travel. The role requires managing the entire sales cycle, overcoming challenges, converting leads into loyal accounts, and maintaining motivation even when facing refusals.
Candidate Profile

- A natural hunter mindset with a strong focus on building enduring relationships, acting as a trusted consultant for trade customers.
- Broad knowledge of building materials and in-depth understanding of construction processes.
- Drive, proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to outstanding customer service.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills combined with tech-savviness to navigate multiple systems.
- Possession of a full New Zealand Class 1 driver’s license is essential.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base salary complemented by an incentive scheme.
- Company vehicle provided for work-related travel.
- Opportunities for professional growth within the larger Fletcher Building Group.
- Employee and family staff discounts on purchases.
- Z Energy fuel discounts and complimentary monthly pie and coffee.
- KiwiSaver employer contributions matched up to 4%.
- Access to an Employee Education Fund and health & wellbeing programs, including an Employee Assistance Programme.

Work Schedule
This role requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, based on-site in Auckland with frequent travel to customer locations.
