Job Overview

The Accounts Assistant will play a key role in supporting the daily financial operations within the company's manufacturing accounts and finance department, based in Sonale, Bhiwandi. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing financial documents, and ensuring compliance with both company policies and statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare bank and cash vouchers with necessary attachments, ensuring proper authorization, coding, and systematic filing.
  • Record daily financial transactions in accounting software like Tally or ERP, keeping books of accounts current.
  • Maintain cash books, bank books, and ledgers with precision.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations, management of petty cash, and fund tracking.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes including audit schedule preparation.
  • Generate and dispatch accurate customer invoices, including Lorry Receipt details from logistics.
  • Verify invoice accuracy concerning rates, quantities, GST, and customer information.
  • Maintain registers to monitor invoice dispatches and payment statuses, following up with customers accordingly.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Dispatch, and Production departments to resolve billing and payment discrepancies.
  • Ensure all transactions adhere to company policy and statutory requirements such as GST and TDS.
  • Assist in preparing management reports such as outstanding balances and daily cash/bank summaries.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Manage filing and record-keeping to facilitate quick retrieval and audit readiness.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Competent with Tally ERP, SAP, or similar accounting software.
  • Basic understanding of GST, TDS, and accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word applications.
  • Strong communication and follow-up capabilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with good organizational skills.
