Job description
Role Overview
Join the PlaceMakers Huntly Yard & Drive Thru team as a dedicated member focused on helping trade customers efficiently locate and load building materials. This physically active role includes managing stock movements, maintaining the yard’s safety and orderliness, and supporting smooth operations every day.
Key Duties
- Assist customers in identifying and loading the correct building products
- Handle truck loading and unloading safely while securing products
- Utilize yard systems to document stock movements and aid order fulfillment
- Replenish inventory, pick orders, and ensure sufficient stock levels
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization within the yard environment
- Contribute to ongoing safety and improvement initiatives
Work Schedule
This is a permanent, full-time position with 40 working hours weekly from Monday to Friday alongside scheduled Saturdays.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is practical, dependable, and thrives in an outdoor, dynamic setting. A strong commitment to customer service and teamwork is essential. Individuals with forklift licenses and experience in customer service or manual handling will be preferred; however, training will be provided for those willing to learn.
Requirements
- A positive mindset paired with eagerness to develop new skills
- Effective communication and the ability to resolve issues independently
- Possession of or the readiness to acquire a forklift license
- Basic familiarity with building materials is advantageous
- Capability to follow instructions accurately while showing initiative
- Strong dedication to safety standards and collaborative work
