About the Role
Join Glencore Australia at Oaky Creek Coal in Tieri, Queensland as a Water Infrastructure Coordinator, reporting to the Water Infrastructure Superintendent. This role focuses on overseeing the daily operations, reliability, and upkeep of the site's fixed water infrastructure and pumping systems. You'll ensure operational data is processed and verified timely, communicating insights and recommendations to stakeholders to meet business goals and compliance requirements. Collaborate with other coordinators and teams to maintain product quality and reclamation efforts, employ appropriate water destruction techniques such as evaporative fans and reverse osmosis, coordinate maintenance and contractors, all while embedding a proactive safety culture.
Candidate Profile
Glencore seeks adaptable, proactive individuals who think critically, with a strong safety ethos. Required qualifications and experience include:
- Trade certification or equivalent hands-on expertise in water management and infrastructure
- Extensive practical knowledge in fixed water infrastructure and site water management including pumps, pipelines, ponds/dams, and transfer systems
- At least 3 years of experience in water infrastructure operation or coordination within mining, utilities, or industrial sectors (coal mining experience preferred)
- Knowledge of water destruction methods such as evaporative fans and reverse osmosis processes
- Proficient computer skills with strong abilities in Word and Excel for data reporting and processing
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of delivering analyses and operational suggestions to various stakeholders
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and handle ambiguity
- Strong commitment to incorporating safety into all daily activities and planning

Working Conditions
This is a Monday to Friday role or alternatively on a 9-day fortnight roster. The position is based onsite at the Oaky Creek Coal site.
