Warehouse Worker/Operator

About the Role

Sandvik Mining is recruiting an experienced and proactive Warehouse Worker/Operator to join our team at the Pooraka, South Australia location. This role supports and manages warehouse and distribution activities serving both internal and external clients.

Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will coordinate daily warehouse operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and exceptional service. You will be the primary contact on the warehouse floor, driving team performance and promoting continuous improvement while upholding best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with management, suppliers, and customers regarding warehouse operations.
• Handle weighing, shipping, receiving, and delivery duties including dispatcher functions.
• Manage receipt, pick, pack, and dispatch procedures for spare parts and materials.
• Carry out specific project work as assigned.
• Assist with inventory control and audits.
• Prepare accurate shipping documentation for outgoing goods.
• Perform detailed data entry in Sandvik’s SAP IT systems.
• Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective measures.
• Conduct stock cycle counts and complete stocktakes.
• Apply quality control methods and procedures.
• Maintain general warehouse upkeep and housekeeping standards.
• Guide and support team members to ensure compliance with procedures, safety policies, and productivity targets.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized warehouse environment compliant with Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of three years’ experience in warehouse or stores operations within heavy mining or equipment manufacturing sectors. A current forklift license is mandatory. Experience using SAP and RF scanning equipment is required, along with the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is essential, as is a strong commitment to implementing health and safety policies.
