About the Role
This role involves evaluating and processing applications related to registration, licensing, and authorization of businesses and individuals providing virtual asset services. It requires working collaboratively with management to ensure smooth section operations and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Section Manager to guarantee efficient and effective functioning of the Virtual Asset Services Supervision Section.
- Analyze and process applications for registration, licensing, fit and proper assessments, and other approvals or authorizations related to virtual asset service providers.
- Evaluate applications according to relevant guidelines and standard operating procedures, consulting with other organizational sections when necessary.
- Conduct field inspections to verify licensees' adherence to regulatory requirements and monitor their activities.
- Collect, analyze, and compile data and relevant information related to off-site activities; prepare reports and recommendations for management.
- Make recommendations on regulatory enforcement actions to the Section Manager based on on-site or desk-based supervision activities in cases of non-compliance.
- Represent the section alongside the Director or Manager in interactions with customers and stakeholders.
- Participate in technical missions, forums, conferences, and training sessions both locally and internationally as required by the organization.
- Stay informed about current legislation, guidelines, and policies in the industry to ensure application processing aligns with laws and standards.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and practices; contribute to strategic planning and periodic reviews for the Financial Services Authority.
- Conduct market research aimed at enhancing the regulatory framework and industry reputation within the jurisdiction.
Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Law, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Alternatively, a professional qualification in finance, compliance, accounting, information technology, or cyber security equivalent to an undergraduate degree.
- Possession of ACAMS or ICA compliance certification is also acceptable.
Compensation
Salary will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications and experience.
