Position Summary
We are seeking 3 Traffic Management Operatives to join the Alba Traffic Management team based in Inverness. This practical role involves supporting the setup, maintenance, and removal of temporary traffic management on roads with varying speed limits. Working collaboratively, you will contribute to the safe regulation of traffic and the completion of projects efficiently and safely.
Work Schedule
The role requires shift work, covering evenings, night shifts, and weekends. While overtime is not guaranteed, additional hours may be required. Occasional on-call duties are also expected.
Key Duties
- Install, upkeep, and dismantle temporary traffic management systems on high and low speed roads.
- Set up and remove cones, signs, barriers, frames, sandbags, and temporary traffic lights.
- Perform all tasks adhering to company policies, industry best practices, and National Highways Sector Scheme standards.
- Regularly inspect traffic management equipment to ensure safety and serviceability.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver projects safely and punctually.
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations to protect colleagues, motorists, and the public.
- Conduct vehicle, equipment, and site checks, reporting defects promptly.
- Respond promptly to both planned work and emergency traffic management needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of vehicles, tools, and work areas.
- Represent Alba Traffic Management professionally while engaging with clients, contractors, and the public.
- Participate actively in shift work, including evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call schedules.
- Engage in training and development to enhance skills and maintain certifications.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous highway work experience is preferred; familiarity with construction environments is beneficial.
- Lantra 12D or 12A/B certifications are advantageous; full training is offered for capable candidates.
- Possession of a full UK driving license is required.
- Having an HGV license is a plus.
- Strong dedication to health, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Good teamwork abilities and effective communication across diverse stakeholders.
- Flexible regarding varied working hours, including nights, weekends, and being on call.
