Technical Support Engineer - Residential Energy Storage (BESS)

Expanding their footprint in Europe, they seek to enhance their product support team in Germany.

Position Summary

The Technical Support Engineer will deliver both pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance for residential energy storage systems throughout Germany. This position serves as a critical liaison connecting sales, channel partners, installers, distributors, customers, and global technical teams. The engineer will support flawless installations, resolve technical complications, and contribute to business growth in residential energy storage.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer remote and on-site technical support to installers, distributors, and end customers.
• Identify and resolve issues related to system configuration, integration, and commissioning.
• Manage complex technical cases and work in coordination with global headquarters when needed.
• Document technical cases and prepare detailed reports.
• Conduct training sessions for installers and channel partners to enhance product proficiency.
• Facilitate installer onboarding and certification processes.
• Prepare and update training materials to ensure up-to-date knowledge transfer.
• Ensure channel partners comply with product quality and safety standards.
• Assist in system design consultations and provide technical recommendations.
• Support sales teams during technical proposal development and client discussions.
• Advise on system compatibility, configurations, and regulatory compliance.
• Gather and relay feedback from field teams about product performance and installation experience.
• Identify frequent technical challenges and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with product development and R&D teams for enhancements tailored to the European market.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in solar PV, residential battery storage (BESS), electrical systems, or closely related sectors.
• Robust knowledge of residential electrical systems and battery energy storage integration.
• Practical experience in installation, commissioning, or technical troubleshooting is highly valued.
• Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving aptitude.
• Proficient in conducting technical presentations and installer training sessions.
• Capable of working independently with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
• Willing to travel approximately 40% within Germany and occasionally across Europe.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications is preferred.

Language Skills

• Fluent German at a minimum C1 proficiency level.
• Proficient spoken and written communication in English.

Preferred Background

• Degree or technical qualification in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Experience collaborating with installers, distributors, or providers of energy solutions.
• Hands-on knowledge of residential photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems.
