Job description
Overview
Talbot Hotel Clonmel, part of the Talbot Collection, is seeking a dedicated Swim Teacher to become part of their team, with availability required during midweek. Reporting directly to the Leisure Club Manager, this role supports the efficient running of the leisure facility, ensuring alignment with 4-star standards while delivering exceptional service and maintaining a safe, enjoyable environment for both members and guests.
Key Duties
- Lead swim lessons and seasonal swim camps or workshops, delivering safe, skill-based instruction according to national aquatic agency standards.
- Organize and execute weekly lesson plans to optimize class effectiveness and practice time.
- Promote learning through positive encouragement and consistent teaching methods across all assigned classes.
- Manage classes promptly, including setting up beforehand and cleaning up afterward, while being available to address questions from participants or parents.
- Coordinate scheduling and lesson details with managers, supervisors, and reception staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Respond properly to accidents or emergencies, following established protocols and reporting procedures.
- Engage in ongoing training by attending mandatory meetings and development sessions.
- Maintain positive communication with parents, engaging with them before and after classes to foster good public relations.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certification as a qualified swim teacher and pool lifeguard is preferred.
- Gym instructor qualification is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with pool plant operations and a current first aid certificate are desirable, though not obligatory.
