Supply Chain Director

Overview

A fast-growing defense technology business is looking for a Director of Supply Chain to shape and lead its supply chain strategy. This position owns the direction of the supply chain function for a major business segment, with responsibility for procurement, supplier relationships, and material planning. The job is located in the Raleigh-Durham area and reports into senior leadership.

What You Will Do

• Guide the overall strategy and long-term vision for the supply chain organization.
• Oversee procurement activities, supplier management, and material planning for a critical business area.
• Lead sophisticated international sourcing efforts, including RFX preparation, supplier screening and qualification, and contract discussions.
• Drive organizational change and keep the team aligned as business priorities evolve.
• Manage supply chain operations using planning systems, inventory practices, and related tools.
• Ensure supply chain activities are aligned with government contracting requirements and compliance standards.

Required Background

The company is seeking someone with a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting; an MBA is preferred. Candidates should bring 10 to 12 years of supply chain experience, including at least 7 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
