About the Role and Institution
Yarrabah State School, located in Far North Queensland, is searching for a caring and proactive Student Support Officer. This role is embedded within a culturally diverse and Indigenous-focused environment catering to students from Pre-prep through Year 10 across three campuses. Key Responsibilities
- Innovate and manage data capture systems to develop effective intervention plans.
- Establish and maintain supportive and positive relationships with students, parents, elders, and community members, contributing to local decision-making processes.
- Conduct home visits and liaise with families to encourage consistent school attendance and student motivation.
- Identify educational, social, emotional, or behavioral concerns by working closely with students and their families.
- Collaborate within a team-based management framework, serving as a key contact point for students, families, and community concerning issues or concerns.
