Job description
Role Overview
The Stores Controller position at Afrox, a Linde company based in Lusaka, Zambia, focuses on managing and overseeing inventory control and stock handling with adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain an orderly filing system for goods received vouchers in chronological sequence and ensure prompt forwarding for further processing.
- Conduct weekly reconciliations of bulk gases and cylinders, collaborating with Supply Chain and Warehouse teams to identify and rectify discrepancies.
- Manage stock receipts from branches, couriers, and suppliers, promptly addressing any issues concerning damage or variations in quantity and quality.
- Report inventory irregularities immediately to supervisors to preserve accuracy and uphold quality standards.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure efficient inventory management and stock control procedures.
- Adhere to health, safety, and quality guidelines throughout all stock handling and reconciliation activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Diploma in Purchasing and Supply, Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply certification, or an equivalent qualification.
- Hold membership in a recognized professional body related to supply chain or purchasing.
- Have a minimum of four years of relevant experience in an industrial environment, specifically in inventory management, stock reconciliation, or supply chain operations.
- Demonstrate strong organizational capabilities with meticulous attention to accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Exhibit problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and coordinate effective corrective actions.
- Show commitment to maintaining safety, integrity, and respect throughout work activities.
