Role Overview

This role focuses on managing fuel order purchases and deliveries for designated locations, aiming to avoid fuel shortages and maintain optimal inventory levels at minimal total cost. The position is part of a collaborative logistics team offering extensive training and growth prospects within a world-class supply chain environment.

Schedule

The shift pattern is alternating between three days one week and four days the next, scheduled from 7PM to 7AM, providing the benefit of several consecutive days off.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and executing the delivery of hundreds of fuel loads daily with significant financial impact.
Analyzing driver availability, carrier loads, inventories, trucking expenses, and fuel pricing to formulate cost-effective delivery plans that prevent outages.
Handling a high volume of daily calls to resolve issues impacting dispatch and adjusting deliveries accordingly.
Monitoring store fuel tank volumes and sales forecasts to maintain proper inventory and avoid shortages.
Maintaining tank levels at set par values to enhance cash flow and capitalize on market timing opportunities.
Tracking gasoline and heating oil spot market prices to leverage arbitrage and market fluctuations.
Reviewing drivers’ DOT hours and scheduling routes for safety and efficiency.
Coordinating with various teams such as drivers, supply coordinators, and store personnel to ensure alignment with key performance indicators.

Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, engineering, or a minimum of three years’ relevant experience in transportation dispatch or optimization.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure and make financially significant decisions within tight timeframes.
Strong analytical skills to interpret multiple data sources simultaneously.
Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage various projects concurrently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient problem-solving and situational analysis capabilities.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
