Software Engineer I - Open Distribution (New Graduate)

About the Role

Join StubHub as a Software Engineer I within our newly established Open Distribution team, focused on pioneering partner inventory synchronization systems that facilitate millions of ticket transactions worldwide. You'll leverage cutting-edge AI and GenAI tools, such as OpenAI and Claude models, to enhance integration processes and accelerate platform scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools (including Claude and other GenAI technologies) to improve debugging, documentation, and overall developer efficiency.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services that enable partner inventory ingestion, synchronization, and marketplace publishing.
• Understand and work with distributed systems concepts such as event-driven architectures, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Engage in thorough code reviews, design discussions, paired programming, and team collaboration.
• Enhance partner-facing APIs, improve error management, and develop internal tooling.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot production issues leveraging logging, monitoring, and observability tools.

Who Should Apply

• Recent graduates or early-career software engineers with internship, co-op, or significant academic project experience.
• Strong foundation in computer science principles including data structures and algorithms.
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Java, Python, or Go.
• Basic exposure to building or consuming APIs, plus experience working with large language models or AI platforms like Anthropic or ChatGPT through academic or side projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience.

• Competitive annual base salary range: $120,000 to $150,000 USD, influenced by candidate skills and experience.

Location

This role is based in Century City, CA with a hybrid work schedule requiring three days onsite and two days remote per week.
