About the Role
As a Shift Leader at Tesco Comber Express, you will play a key role in coordinating the store team to ensure a clean, well-stocked environment that consistently exceeds customer expectations. This includes supporting colleagues, managing daily priorities, and maintaining a safe and welcoming shopping space.
Working Hours and Flexibility
Shifts are scheduled between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM every day of the week. You will receive a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with flexibility to work as few as 12 hours weekly if preferred. Shifts are assigned with three weeks' notice, and Tesco encourages applicants whose availability closely matches the hours required to still apply. The role requires candidates to be 18 years or older.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage duty shifts in a dynamic retail setting.
- Ensure the store is clean, well-presented, and adequately stocked.
- Provide exceptional customer service by actively listening and helping customers fulfill their needs.
- Coach colleagues, delivering constructive feedback and fostering team spirit.
- Maintain safety standards and support a positive work atmosphere.
- Assist management with store performance improvements and community initiatives.
- Open and close the store as required, making sound decisions to safeguard all.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, keeping them informed of updates and changes.
