Role overview
A leading professional services organisation is looking for an accomplished Senior Technical Project/Programme Manager to steer major technology transformation work. The role suits a delivery leader who can manage complex programmes, work closely with senior stakeholders, and help shape strategic change across enterprise-scale environments.
Key responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle delivery of large technology and business transformation programmes, from early setup through implementation and handover.
- Create and maintain programme roadmaps, keeping milestones, risks, dependencies and deliverables under control.
- Run several project workstreams in parallel while ensuring they stay aligned to business goals and organisational priorities.
- Develop trusted relationships with senior business and technical stakeholders, and provide regular updates, reporting and practical recommendations.
- Maintain strong governance across the programme, including budget oversight, risk and issue control, resource planning and benefits tracking.
- Coordinate delivery across internal teams, suppliers and external partners.
- Promote project management standards, delivery methodologies and continuous improvement across programmes.
- Support business growth by spotting opportunities to improve technology delivery capabilities and client outcomes.
- Coach and guide project managers and delivery staff to encourage strong performance and professional development.
Experience required
- A minimum of 8 years' experience delivering complex technology programmes in consulting, professional services or large enterprise settings, or more than 10 years delivering enterprise technology transformation in industry.
- Proven success leading large digital transformation, systems integration or enterprise change initiatives.
- Strong background in managing multiple stakeholders across business and technical teams.
- Hands-on experience with programme governance, financial control, delivery planning and reporting.
- Experience leading teams spread across different locations or operating in a matrix structure.
- Good working knowledge of project and programme delivery methods, including Agile, Waterfall and hybrid approaches.
- Excellent communication, leadership and negotiation skills, with experience presenting to executive and senior management audiences.
- Ability to balance high-level programme oversight with detailed delivery execution.
Desirable experience
- Exposure to programmes involving Cloud Migration, ERP, CRM, AI, Data & Analytics, Digital Transformation, Infrastructure, Service Management or Systems Integration.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow or similar enterprise service management tools.
- Experience in Financial Services, Public Sector, Utilities, Technology, Retail, Manufacturing, Telecommunications or Life Sciences.
- Familiarity with programme governance practices such as RAID management, budget monitoring and benefits realisation.
- Professional credentials such as PRINCE2, PMP, PMBOK, SAFe, Agile or similar project management certifications.
- Experience supporting business development, client relationship management and proposal work.
Education
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent third-level qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or a related field is required.
- Additional project or programme management certifications are considered a strong advantage.
