Job description
Role Overview
The Senior Software Engineer will collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to enhance development efficiency, system reliability, and overall operational performance. This includes evaluating current systems, workflows, and processes to spot improvement opportunities and recommending implementation of engineering best practices such as CI/CD, site reliability engineering, automation, and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering departments and stakeholders to elevate system reliability and development productivity.
- Analyze existing workflows and processes to identify areas needing enhancement.
- Suggest and implement best practices in software engineering including continuous integration, continuous delivery, automation, and system monitoring.
- Design implementation roadmaps for onboarding new tools, techniques, and technologies.
- Communicate complex technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support proof-of-concept initiatives and assist in early-stage solution developments.
- Develop and maintain backend applications, scripts, and batch processes primarily using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Build and manage cloud infrastructures on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Develop scalable data streaming and processing systems.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to share knowledge, establish tools, and promote best practices.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of six years experience as a software engineer contributing individual expertise.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript development.
- Hands-on experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience creating automation scripts, cron jobs, and batch processing solutions.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and streaming data technologies.
- Proven track record in delivering enterprise-scale technical solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Skill in preparing detailed technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and implementation strategies.
- Experience in supporting proofs of concept and facilitating technology adoption.
- Exposure to secure or isolated (air-gapped) environments is a plus.
