Senior Graphic Designer

About the Role

On Poynt Creative is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer to join their Leicester studio on a full-time basis. This role is pivotal to maintaining and elevating the quality of all creative output, acting as both a lead designer and a mentor to the team. The person in this position balances hands-on design work with leadership responsibilities, collaborating closely with project managers to deliver creative solutions within clear strategic frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute brand identity, print, and digital projects, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest quality standards set by the studio.
• Oversee and approve creative work daily, making decisive calls to maintain momentum without unnecessary escalations.
• Mentor middleweight and junior designers by reviewing their work, enhancing conceptual thinking, and improving technical skills through constructive feedback.
• Approach briefs strategically by understanding client business goals and ensuring design decisions contribute to commercial growth.
• Confidently present creative ideas and rationale to clients, translating complex concepts into clear, strategic narratives.

Candidate Profile

• Curious and strategic thinker who questions the reasoning behind design choices and their impact on clients.
• Strong commercial awareness combined with the ability to create designs that move brands forward.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite with in-depth knowledge of print production, digital assets, and brand systems.
• Natural leadership qualities with excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire a high-performance team.

Requirements

• Several years of experience at Senior Designer level in a fast-paced agency environment, or an advanced middleweight ready for senior responsibilities.
• A portfolio demonstrating originality, creativity, and commercial impact.
• Expertise in print, digital, and brand identity design.
• Effective presentation and verbal communication skills.
• A strategic mindset when engaging with clients and projects.
• Previous experience mentoring junior designers is advantageous.
• Ability and willingness to work onsite in Leicester studio five days per week; this role is not remote or hybrid.
