Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead mechanical design initiatives related to fire water pump systems. This role encompasses managing projects from reviewing sales orders to the handover for production. The candidate will ensure adherence to Aramco engineering standards, NFPA 20, and relevant codes while providing technical direction in the design, documentation, and implementation of fire protection pumping systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply Aramco project specifications and NFPA 20 codes to develop compliant fire water pump system designs.
• Create and present customer-facing documentation, including cross-sectional pump drawings, general arrangement layouts, P&ID diagrams, and associated calculations as required.
• Authorize and coordinate the documentation for purchased components such as motors, couplings, seals, gearboxes, valves, and diesel engines.
• Work collaboratively with the instrumentation team to ensure fire system controls and monitoring devices are correctly integrated.
• Develop and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) using SAP ERP systems.
• Engage with customers, Aramco officials, and sub-suppliers to guarantee design conformity and obtain necessary approvals.
• Support interdisciplinary teams across operations, procurement, quality assurance, and testing during the project lifecycle.
• Offer on-site or test bed commissioning support and troubleshoot fire pump systems.
• Prepare and submit design calculations and technical reports to clients and relevant authorities for approval.
• Ensure all designs comply with safety, reliability, and performance criteria essential for fire protection systems.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Have 5 to 10 years of professional experience specializing in centrifugal pump design, particularly fire water pump systems.
• Possess moderate expertise with both horizontal and vertical pump designs and their operational aspects.
• Demonstrate strong familiarity with NFPA 20, API standards, and Aramco engineering specifications.
• Skilled in Autodesk tools (AutoCAD, Inventor), Siemens NX, and Teamcenter software.
• Experience with SAP ERP for managing BOMs and tracking projects.
• Ability to handle multiple projects efficiently and interact effectively with clients and regulatory agencies.
• Exhibit strong sense of ownership, meticulous attention to detail, and a goal-driven approach.
