Nair Systems LLC is seeking a Senior Data Architect specializing in Data and AI to join their team in Doha, Qatar on a contractual basis working onsite.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Manage the Enterprise Data Architecture framework that underpins Data Analytics and AI projects throughout the organization.
• Create and update conceptual, logical, and physical data models that meet business, analytics, and AI requirements.
• Evaluate and validate data architecture plans, including data flows, lineage, and integration approaches ensuring adherence to Data Governance, Quality, Security, and Privacy standards.
• Analyze AI technical use cases focusing on data sourcing, integration, scalability, performance, and compliance with target architecture.
• Develop and maintain technical controls aligned with Responsible AI principles, such as data validation, bias detection, explainability, traceability, and monitoring systems.
• Assess external vendor solutions for compatibility with enterprise architecture policies, integration capabilities, security protocols, and performance benchmarks.
• Perform thorough data-centric evaluations of third-party products to guarantee compliance with data protection, privacy regulations, and other legal requirements.
• Review Business Requirement Specifications, solution designs, and post-implementation documentation from the perspective of data architecture.
• Oversee data integration frameworks, including ETL/ELT processes, APIs, and real-time and batch data flows across corporate systems.
• Support initiatives related to regulatory adherence, audits, and governance forums associated with architecture.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Data Governance, AI Governance, Responsible AI, and architecture review activities.

Required Skills and Experience

• 7 to 10 years of proven experience in data architecture, enterprise data management, data engineering, or closely related fields, ideally in banking or financial services.
• Deep understanding of enterprise data architecture principles, data modeling, integration techniques, and governance frameworks.
• Expertise with contemporary data platforms such as data warehouses, lakehouses, and ETL/ELT frameworks alongside analytics ecosystems.
• Working knowledge of AI/ML data ecosystems and AI data requirements, with familiarity in Responsible AI concepts.
• Experience vetting architecture designs in on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, and managing regulatory data obligations.
• Strong analytical thinking, architectural design skills, and ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
• Previous experience within GCC and/or Qatar banking sectors is highly preferable.
• Preferred professional certifications include TOGAF, DAMA, CDMP, and credentials in Cloud Architecture.
