Position Overview

The Senior Analyst role within the New Zealand & Pacific Islands team involves actively supporting and enhancing Mastercard's customer relationships throughout the Pacific region. This role provides a hands-on opportunity in account management, payments, and market expansion by working closely with issuer and acquirer customers. The position requires partnering with Account Managers and cross-functional teams to advance customer initiatives, analyze business results, assist in strategic planning, and contribute to projects promoting digital payments and financial inclusion in the Pacific Islands. With experience, the role offers progression to taking full ownership of certain customer accounts and contributing to commercial growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing and expanding customer relationships across Mastercard's Pacific Islands client portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to develop comprehensive account plans, customer strategies, and identify growth prospects.
  • Prepare professional presentations, business reviews, performance reports, and materials for customer engagement.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of customer performance data, transaction trends, and market insights to inform commercial decisions.
  • Liaise with Product, Services, Finance, Legal, and Delivery teams to align efforts with customer priorities and initiatives.
  • Contribute actively to strategic projects aimed at growing digital payments, enhancing customer engagement, and promoting financial inclusion.
  • Support the organization of customer meetings, including preparing agendas, tracking actions, and overseeing follow-ups.
  • Monitor account priorities and critical initiatives to ensure timely execution and deliverables.
  • Continuously build expertise on the payments environment, client needs, and market conditions throughout the Pacific Islands.
  • Progress towards independently managing smaller customer accounts and advancing commercial growth opportunities within the region.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in account management, client services, consulting, commercial operations, or comparable business roles.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude with a talent for transforming data into actionable recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, demonstrated by the ability to design clear, impactful business documents.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple concurrent priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships and collaborate effectively across various internal teams.
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, demonstrating accountability and initiative.
  • Genuine interest in payments, financial services, and strategies to foster customer relationship growth.
  • Previous exposure to financial services, payments, consulting, or client-facing roles is a distinct advantage.
  • Motivation to pursue a long-term career in account management and client relationship leadership.
