Senior Accountant

Role Overview

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the daily accounting functions such as maintaining the general ledger, managing accounts payable and receivable, conducting bank reconciliations, and handling month-end and year-end closing activities. Located on-site in Doha, Qatar, this full-time position involves the preparation of financial statements, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and management reports that aid strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

The role requires ensuring adherence to applicable accounting standards, tax laws, and internal control procedures, along with facilitating external audit processes. The Senior Accountant will analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, propose enhancements to financial workflows, and partner with multiple departments to bolster business outcomes and advisory initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Robust accounting expertise encompassing ledger management, preparation of financial reports, and financial period closures.
• Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, financial data analysis, and reporting variances to inform leadership decisions.
• Hands-on knowledge of accounting software and ERP platforms, complemented by advanced proficiency in Excel and handling complex financial reports.
• Familiarity with accounting standards, tax regulations, internal auditing, with preferable experience in Qatar or the GCC jurisdictions.
• Excellent analytical skills, with a detail-oriented, problem-solving mindset and strong organizational capabilities.
• Effective communicator and collaborator, capable of working with company leaders, clients, and cross-functional teams.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar disciplines; professional credentials such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are advantageous.
• Several years of progressive accounting exposure, including senior or supervisory roles, ideally in consulting or professional services environments.
• Capability to work onsite in Doha, adept at juggling multiple tasks, and flexible to evolving business and regulatory demands.
